About the Project

How the Project Started | The Team Behind the Project | Meet Stewart

The Stewart Adams Project was created by a group of college students to explore the nature of the rise of celebrities in the United States. To do this, we are attempting to turn an ordinary person (Stewart Adams) into a celebrity simply by employing the different channels of communication in our culture. We are working to gain exposure through word of mouth, our website, various online social networks and eventually through mass media outlets such as radio, print and television.

In order to measure the experiment, we plan to monitor the number of members in our group on social networks such as facebook and myspace. We will also monitor coverage of the project in the media and the traffic on the website.

We hope to grow our online presence through word of mouth and by being on as many social networking and informational sites as possible. We will also create publicity materials such as t-shirts and bumper stickers to gain exposure.

We will also regularly create and post short videos to let people get to know Stewart. Our first short video series is called “Famous People (Blank),” which features Stewart doing (or attempting to do) things that other famous people do. These will not only be posted on the website, but on our YouTube channel as well.

Our basic plan and list of goals are as follows:

  • Gather online support through social networking sites.
  • Spread the awareness of the project/website through word of mouth and promotional materials.
  • Keep supporters updated via website
    • Pictures
    • Bios
    • Videos/podcasts
    • Trivia
    • Blog posts
